Other: 1) Week-end of the grape-harvest
(from the 15th of october to the 30th of october).
It depends from the seasonal production.
Programme - on fridays - Afternoon
: reception to the holidays house, settlement to the
apartaments and the dinner of welcome. On saturdays:
at 09.00 a.m. breakfast; at 10.00 a.m.short lesson
about the vine and the thecnique of the grape-harvest;
at 10.30 a.m.starting of the grape-harvest; at 13.00
lunch; at 15.00 pressing of the grapes; at 20.00 dinner.
On sundays: Breakfast and free morning, lunch
and last greetings. The interested people has to know
that the programme will takes place if it will achieves
at least 15 sharers. The cost is Euro 300,00 per couple.
2) Ceramic, wine and Art In the wonderful
countryside of the “Chianti”, a craftsman
will teach you the Ceramic Art, he will teach
you to knead, to polish, to cook, to colour and at
the end you’ll have the object that we have
maken. You could learn the tecnique of the “Colombino”,
old and only manual and you could make tiles, briks:
the material who are used to build the old recidences
of the “Chianti”.Visit in an historical
cellar. In this cellar is produced a very good wine
who is given to the “Stato Vaticano”.
The Pope Giovanni PaoloII has awarded a recognition,
during a visit. Here, you could have a typical tuscan
lunch, wine tasting with the explanation of the methods
of the making of the grapes, panoramic walking along
the vineyardsand photographic ways. In the after-
noon visit in the museum of siena that is a medieval
city. Municipal museum : Hall of Peace
(“ Allegoria of the just and the unjust governement
” by Ambrogio Lorenzetti of 1338 ). Hall of
the Globe “Majesty ” by Simone Martini
of 1315-1321 “ Guidoriccio from Fogliano ”

3) Nature Tour
The paths, the mule-tracks, the cart-traks are a way
to visit the most beautiful sanctuaries of the Toskana.
In this way, you can reach the most suggestive and
interesting villages from the naturalistic point of
view.
They are along old and simple roads who were the most
important infrastructure of the trade and the cultural
exchanges ever since Etruscan times. The most beautiful
ways are: along the Crete between the Asso and the
Tuoma (Torrenieri-Sant’Anna in Camprena ).
The path of the Brunello (Torrenieri - Montalcino
). From the Roman Terme to the Ripa d’Orcia
castle (Bagno Vignoni).Path of the Predoni (from Rdicondoli
to Belforte ).The excursion by canoe along the Ombrone
river. It crosses a wood and flows into the sea .
Hier, you can admire Natur and to live again the Origins.
You could drive the canoe and you could enjoy a wonderful
landscape that man did’nt start using.
For knee people on bicycles excursion by mountain
bike along clay fields in the Senese Crete, or along
vineyards and olive groves of the area of the Brunello
in the Orcia valley. Along these paths, you could
see wonderful places and to breath an healthy air.
4) Green Tour
Excursion by horseback with a tour guide along senese
countryside paths, you could walk along photographic
paths and you could take part of a particular view,
you could see farms on hills, vineyards, olive groves
you could see rivers and to reach the castle among
the wood. Excursion by canoe along the Ombrone river.
It crosses the wood and it flows into the sea . Hier,
you can admire Natur and to live again the Origins,you
could live a nice adventure driving the canoe and
you could enjoy a wonderful landscape that man did’nt
start using.
For keen people, excursion by mountain byke along
clay fields.In the Senese Crete, or along vineyards,

5) Wood Tour
Period: october-november. In the morning : Picking
of muschrooms in the wood.
Lunch in a typical inn where you could taste game
based foods. Sight of animals in the wood: wild boars,
hares, roe deers, foxes.
Visit to the old coal cellars.
6) History Tour
Monte Oliveto Maggiore abbey: wonderful peace, and
prayer oasis of Monaci Benedettini Olivetani who with
their majestic bulk soars high over clay furrows and
deep valleys.
It was founded by the blessed Bernardo (Giovanni Tolomei
). In 1313, the hermits came here. Adjacent to the
church is the Big cloister with frescos by Signorelli
and by Sodoma Sant’ Antimo Abbey that is an
important monument of romanesque Art. It was founded
by Carlo Magno at the end of VIII century. It was
an important benedictine abbey. The building was helped
by the donations by the Carolingians, by Berengario
II, by Adalberto and by papal prerogatives. Lunch
in the inn in Castelnuovo dell’Abate.
Bagno Vignoni, natural thermal swimmingpool where
Santa Caterina da Siena, Lorenzo dei Medici and Carlo
V have been.
7) Art Tour
Visit in Siena: medieval city and its museums: municipal
museum: Hall of Peace (“ allegory of the just

8) Francigena Tour
The Francigena way runs through the senese area. It
was a path, a mule-track or a levelled road but it
was the most important motorway in the Middle Ages,
from Cantembury to Rome. Its length was 2500 km and
it tooks 79 days that is 2 mounths and half.
This is the journey that was in 994 it was related
by the Abbot Sigerico , archbischop of Canterbury
while he was came back to the city where he lived,
after to have been in Rome for a pilgrimage. The manuscript
of X century is in the British Museum of London and
it is one of the most detailed testimony about the
Francigena way. This big road ,who crossed England,France,
Germany, and Switserland arrived to the Alps, to Padania
and it arrived to Toscany through Passo della Cisa
and it passed the Arno river to arrive to our area.
We’ll go to Francigena way tom San Gimignano
and we’ll arrive to Bagni San Filippo . Passed
San Gimignano ,we’ll go through Abbadia Isola
where we could eat in the “Buca dei frati”
and to see the old monastery where pilgrims went.
Going through Monteriggioni we’ll arrive to
Siena,Monteroni d’Arbia, Buonconvento and we’ll
stop in Bagno Vignoni, in the wonderful thermes to
have a break and then we could go to Bagni San Filippo.In
this way, you could live again the pilgrims times
but you could see roads where kings and Emperors travelled
through too. You could see their works along the Francigena
way.
9)Tour del Chianti in Mongolfiera
tour by ballon flying over roofs. They were driven
from a light breeze enjoyng a wonderful scenery. You
could be present to sun rise after the fly, we’ll
give you a breakfast with champagne in the field were
you’ll land. The Chianti has an important history
that we have to know,long wars between Siena and and
Florence with defensive lines who always were Radda,
Gaiole, Castellina and Castelnuovo Berardenga. Castellina
in Chianti was possessed by Conti Guidi as long as
Florence in 1193,was under their rule. In 1208, Castellina
was at the head of the three areas of Florence. Travelling
along a panoramic road ,we can arrive to Radda Chianti,that
in 1203 it was under Florence dominion. The fortifications
are of 1400 and in 1415 it became the chief town of
Lega Chianti. Going to Florence we’ll arrive
to the old boundery between Siena and Florence that
was the Volpaia Castle ,that is important for its
position of centry in the Valle della Pesa. Going
all over we met Badia a Coltibuono, Spaltenna Castle,
Meleto Castle that was buildt after the half of 1200.It
belonged to Firidolfi Family. The Brolio Castle who
in that times belonged to Firidolfi. He built an example
of renessance fortresse around.
10) Cooking Course (1 day)
The day will be dedicated to the cooking. We'll spend
an unforgettable time in the farm-yard, where will
have got an old oven to cook and a fountain to wash
vegetables.
Our ingredients of the courses will be taken from
our kitchengarden. About 11 A.M. we'll go to the shepherd
to see how we can make the buttermilk Curd and other
fresh cheese. At 14 P.M. we'll have a snack under
an ageold oacktree in a wonderful tuscan view and
the singing of the birds will accompany us. At 17
P.M. the cooking course will start.
The chef will explain how we can make the typical
courses and he will tell us the history of their ingredients.
We will make pasta and with the eggs taken from the
henhouse, the buttermilk curd of the shepherd and
spinaches taken from the kitchengarden, we'll make
the wonderful "ravioli". We'll try to make
other typical tuscan courses. When we'll have finished
to cook also the dessert we'll sit down to table with
the chef. We will enjoy eating the dishes maken by
our hands and drinking a good local wine. |
