Original Tuscany apartments in a
wonderful castle, managed directly
by its owner, in the district of Montespertoli
which is 4 km away. 1 km Montagnana or Baccaiano
(various shops and floodlit tennis - Euro 8/hour),
3 km Cerbaia, 20 km Florence, 55 km Pisa (airport).
The Tuscan castle was originally built in the year
1100 and restored in the 17th century by the noble
Acciaioli family. It is characterised by a magnificent
tower built in the same architectural style
as that of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
Set in the heart of a vast cultivated estate with
vineyards and olive-groves, in a peaceful and panoramic
position along a small country road. Surrounding the
castle is a well-kept and equipped terraced park (deck-chairs,
chairs, tables etc..., table tennis and playground
for children: chutes, see-saws) with very beautiful
Italian style gardens which originate from the 18th
C. with lemon trees and lovely shared swimming pool
(14x7) (1/4-30/10). Parking in front of the Tuscan
castle. Reasonably comfortable furniture. The porter's
lodge is open from 08.30-13.00 and 14.30-18.30 on
week-days and from 08.00-20.00 on Saturdays and 09.00-12.00
and 15.00-18.00 on Sunday. Coin pay-phone in the courtyard.
Farm produce (wine, oil, grappa) and souvenirs for
sale in the characteristical bar in the old cellars
of the castle. Upon request, possibility of organising
three times a week (on Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
dinners for guests (minimum 15 people) in the small
tavern style room of the castle. Possibility of organising
horse riding excursions. Baby-sitter available.
