By car:
You have to reach Florence-Certosa.
If you are driving on the highway AUTOSOLE (A1 Roma-Milano),
go out at FIRENZE CERTOSA, that if you are coming
from north is after the FIRENZE NORD and FIRENZE SIGNA
exits (coming from south is after FIRENZE SUD). If
you are already in the city Florence follow the signals
to CERTOSA.
At Firenze Certosa you will find the access to the
motorway FIRENZE-SIENA, take this
way and drive for 22 km in the direction SIENA, until
you find the exit SAN DONATO IN POGGIO.
Follow the street to the village and park the auto
outside the stonewalls. Via del Giglio is the main
street of the village.
By train or plane:
Unfortunately, there are not so many connections to
S. Donato. Only few buses SITA in
a day come to the little village. The SITA station
is nearby the Florence Railway Station.
A piece of advise is to rent a car in Florence or
wherever you are in Italy in order to be able to visit
the whole Chianti and his marvellous countryside.
