Villa
La Badia is situated within an enclosed
wooded park, a peaceful and panoramic location.
Both the internal and external walls are characterized
by stone from a nearby quarry, carved and set
by local artisans known for their centuries-old
craft. An automatic gate opens the entrance, with
a lane leading to the parking area and villa.
The grounds have outside lighting
and are equipped with garden furniture, umbrellas,
barbecue, wood stove and covered porch or "loggia".
The villa, laid out on two floors, is carefully
decorated with antiques and furniture
by local artisans. From the entrance
one passes to a sitting room, then to the kitchen
with both a cooking and eating area, followed
by a large family/dining room with corner bar
and fireplace. Bedrooms include one room with
two twin beds and three rooms with double beds.
One of the rooms has an adjoining
shower bathroom, another room
opens directly onto the garden.
A second bathroom with a tub is found on the same
floor. A winding staircase in the family room
leads upstairs to the finished loft, which has
a bedroom, a bathroom, and an open space with
a sofa bed and a loggia from which one can enjoy
a view of the whole valley. The kitchen
is equipped with a four-range stove and
electric oven, a sink, dishwasher, refrigerator,
freezer and a coffee maker for both American and
espresso coffee. A lower level houses a laundry
room with washing machine, dryer and basin.
The villa is heated and has telephone
and television. Both an adult and children's
pool are to be installed in the near future. Stores
and general services can be found at 1.5 kilometers
in the town of Loro Ciuffena.
