The
villa has four large bedrooms each furnished
in typical Tuscan antique style from the 18th Century.
There are wooden beams and cotto throughout the house as well
as original oil paintings and sculptures in terracotta. One
room is a large family room that sleeps 4, plus 3 other rooms
which are double. It is possible to have an extra bed in these
double rooms. Two bathrooms/showers serve the four bedrooms.
In one bathroom there is a bath and in the other a modern
shower. Both are beautifully tiled with stylish hand basins
and bidets. The original and impressive salotto to
I Melograni serves as a large breakfast room
where breakfast is served between 7.30 - 9.30. There
is a kitchen leading off from the breakfast room where guests
are welcome to leave food and drink in the fridge. There is
a lovely garden behind the villa with chairs
and tables with views over the coutryside and small lake.
Guests are welcome to eat in the garden or breakfast room
if they wish. Guests can also use the washing machine in this
kitchen area. The whole structure is enclosed within large
wrought iron gate and completly private. Parking in front
of the villa. 2 km from I Melograni is the famous trattoria
"Da SCIABOLINO" where unusual Tuscan dishes are
served e.g. Gnocci with stinging nettle leaves, Hare pasta,
Bistecca Fiorentina etc. There is also a friendly Pizzeria
nearby (4km) which is packed in the summer months, has a wonderful
noisy atmosphere and it’s possible to eat outside. Good
family fun. |
